N.B. Up to and including 1751, New Years Day was
March 25. In 1752, January 1 was decreed N.Y.D., and September 2 was
immediately followed by September 14. This was to compensate for a calender
change ( a solar year being 365¼ days - not 365 ), which included the
introduction of Leap Years.
