Census Returns

Census Returns started in 1801, and were taken every 10 years.
Full details were not recorded until 1841. If in doubt, ages were
rounded to the nearest 5 years.

These records fall into three categories. 1841-61 and 1891 have 
been collected selectively from local Libraries and Record Centres
in and around the Isle of Thanet. This is not yet a complete
collection, and work is still on-going. 

The 1881 records are extracted from the published CD's covering 
England, Scotland & Wales.

The 1901 records are extracted from the on-line web site, and
occasionally added to as more locations are checked out.
